To preserve your customizations, we do not automatically update web host. If you do not have customizations, you can proceed to the instructions below. If you do have customizations, please ensure that you have detailed notes of what you have changed. If you have altered your reports in webhost, please sign into Collect! in web host test mode or with 99 and export all of your custom reports into an .RPT file. Please refer to How to Export Reports for more information.

Useful Note Take a backup of your database before proceeding.

  1. Export all your reports to \html\db_files folder as a backup (Instructions).
  2. Export just your custom reports separately, so they can be imported back in after the upgrade.
  3. Export all your imports to \html\db_files folder as a backup (Instructions).
  4. Export just your custom imports separately, so they can be imported back in after the upgrade.
  5. Copy and Paste your exiting \html folder. If you get any Windows warnings about copying files in use, you can ignore these as the system will not copy the database files while in use.
  6. Delete all folders in the \html folder, except the "db" folder, if it exists.
  7. Unzip the contents of the ZIP file from the Member Center to the \html.
  8. Run the \html\db_files\webhost_schema.bat
  9. Useful Note If you have executed this query in the past, nothing will happen.

  10. Open the \html\guest\index.html file with a text or HTML editor and update the company information to match your information.
  11. Sign into Collect! through the standard interface, NOT the Web Host interface.
  12. Select the masterdb_w import library (Instructions).
  13. Go to File > Import/Export > Customize Import/Export > Edit File Format
  14. Delete all Imports.
  15. Load the new imports from imports.xml in the new html -> db_files folder (Instructions).
  16. Select the masterdb_w report library (Instructions).
  17. Go to Print > Customize Printing > Edit Report Templates
  18. Delete all Reports.
  19. Import the new reports from reports.rpt in the new html\db_files folder (Instructions).
  20. Start the Webhost using and ID with a user level of 1.
  21. Implement any customizations that you had done previously.

Warning Note WARNING: This installation does not automatically carry any client customizations with it. If you have customized your web host do not use this installation without consultation with Comtech or your own technicians.

Useful Note custom CSS or images should be renamed to have _custom in the file name. We do not recommend that you customize system files. Customizations should be limited to the following:

  • CSS (make a comment in the top of the CSS file of what you changed)
  • images (logo)
  • language files
  • select files
  • print files
